How does a certain floral choice affect whether a event is looked at as “high end” Or luxury?

Floral choices play a huge role in how high-end or luxurious an event feels. Luxury isn’t just about spending more—it’s about intentionality, refinement, and emotional impact. We used “high end” floral types for our Fairway Affair shoot because it was held at a club on a golf course. Style of the florals were used to evoke a style that lends to a coastal chic vibe (our favorite). Think something off the coast of Maine or Rhode Island.

Here’s how specific floral choices (and how they’re used) influence that perception:
1. Type of Flowers Chosen
• High-End Perception Boosters:
• Peonies, orchids, garden roses, calla lilies, ranunculus, anthuriums, phalaenopsis orchids, hellebores – These are considered luxury blooms because of their rarity, delicate nature, and elevated look.
• Seasonal exclusives – Using blooms that are not always in season suggests access to special resources.
• Lower-End or Common Associations:
• Carnations, standard chrysanthemums, baby’s breath (in bulk), daisies – While not inherently “cheap,” they are mass-market staples and don’t give off exclusivity unless styled with intention.

2. Color Palette and Composition
• Luxury florals often use:
• Toned-down, curated color palettes (ivory, blush, deep burgundy, muted pastels, or all-white).
• Monochromatic or ombré arrangements feel more deliberate and elegant than wild, mixed hues.
• Fewer types of flowers per arrangement—simplified choices often feel more sophisticated.
⸻
3. Scale and Abundance
• Bigger is not always better, but:
• Large-scale installations (like hanging florals, floral arches, or ceiling treatments) create a sense of grandeur.
• Full, lush arrangements with high flower-to-greenery ratios feel more premium.
⸻
4. Styling and Design
• Florals designed with intention—balanced shapes, clean mechanics, thoughtful vases—elevate the perception.
• Minimal but impactful styling (think single stems of high-end blooms in sleek vessels) can look ultra-luxurious.
⸻
5. Sourcing and Presentation
• Hand-tied bouquets, imported blooms, and floral work that shows craftsmanship (like asymmetrical arrangements or textural layering) signal “designer” level.
• The florist’s reputation or brand also plays a role in the perceived level of luxury.
