Adore Productions Hosts Open House Introducing New Venue in Twin Cities

On Thursday July 28th Adore had the fantastic opportunity to host an open house not only as a long awaited intro to Adore's new niche services ( such as floral) but also to open the doors of a new loft style venue in the Twin Cities. Studio 8900 was the perfect location to compliment all things Adore and their space is somewhat of a "unicorn" in the events industry right now. Offering open catering and several amenities like getting ready areas, full kitchen, ample free parking etc.. Guests had the opportunity to sample catering from Marna's and were dazzled by the bartending skills of Liquid Motion while sipping Sangria and Champagne from Mac's Liquor.

Just as unique as the event space that was viewed, guests also received the opportunity to see work of Kat Minks, the owner of Adore Productions. At the open house Adore achieved what they wanted to convey. That along with the 14 years of event experience that clients receive with Kat, they can also receive amazing floral designs, decor, styling and personalized services that one would only describe as something that is hard to come by in a midwest market.

"There is still some finishing of the space that will be done by mid August to September" says owner Perry Hanson. Some of those items include a serene patio space in the back of the building as well as decorative walls between the floor to ceiling windows.

Here is a brief Q and A About Adore and Kat Minks.

How long have you been planning events? Adore Productions, which launched in Los Angeles, has been active in the event and wedding planning industry since 2003. When I relocated to Minnesota [and started a family], I was an event planning executive here locally. In my downtime, I studied the marketplace and developed relationships with vendors and potential clients, with the intent to establish Adore Productions in the Minneapolis area. The refocused and restructured Adore Productions enhanced its client offerings, with a focus on niche services needed by clients in the area.

The creativity and client focus of Adore Productions was recently honored by ISES (the International Special Events Society now known as the International Live Event Association) with its Star Award for Best Wedding Overall Under $50,000 and Best Decor [Overall] Under $25,000. To add icing to the cake Adore was also honored with a Nace International Nomination for Best Wedding less than $50,000. As an entrepreneur, the Star Award and NACE ( National Association of Catering Executives) recognition was special not only for Adore Productions, but also for the younger me, who at the age of seven actually loved bringing a special touch to neighborhood birthday parties, and who assembled my own wedding planning “look books” from the pages of various magazines. If nominated back then, the ’91 Winnie The Pooh-themed bar mitzvah celebration I designed for a classmate—complete with graham cracker, honey and peanut butter hors ‘d oeuvres—surely could have been a contender.

What else does Adore do? As the event and wedding planning & event industry is constantly evolving, Adore Productions works to keep clients informed about these innovations by introducing new DIY suggestions to ensure that your event is “done well and done right.” The Adore blog educates brides on the affordability and “pros” of engaging a wedding planner (there are no “cons”); strategies for wedding gown shopping; the “new etiquette” on bridal showers, and much more.

Adore also conducts in-person bridal planning workshops for groups of five or more to help brides (and grooms!) avoid some of the common mistakes in wedding planning—from date and venue selection, to negotiating with vendors, to ensuring that your event reflects your vision from beginning to end.

Why should you or your clients/ brides consider hiring a wedding planner and event designer? I have a personal and longstanding passion for event planning, but especially for wedding planning. I enjoy getting to know the bride and groom, their tastes and desires for the most important event in their new life together. One of the biggest misconceptions about hiring a wedding planner is loss of control. That’s now how wedding planners operate. We collaborate. Wedding planners have experienced hundreds of weddings, but your client will only have one. Using the planner’s expertise is intended to make your wedding a stress-free and enjoyable experience! In my opinion every bride should engage a professional planner, even if for “day of” wedding coordination only.
